Space Dome is more than a party; it’s a tribute to the low-end theory of the underground LA beat scene. Inspired by the legendary nights at Melkweg Amsterdam, we bring the bass of the West Coast beat scene to De Nachtzuster Tilburg. On Thursday July 30th from 18:30 till 23:30, De Nachtzuster transforms into an intimate space satellite. Expect trip-hop, beats, deep grooves, and experimental rhythms. A long soundtrack that takes you from J Dilla to Flying Lotus, from Massive Attack to DJ Shadow. From afternoon to midnight. No rush, just hypnotic bass and a close-knit vibe. This is the sound of LA in Tilburg.

The LA beat scene is more than a genre, it’s a state of mind. It’s the sound of Los Angeles in the 2000s: a post-sunset drive where jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music blend into a heavy, cosmic whole. Born from a community of producers in bedrooms and basements, this scene pushed instrumental hip-hop into thrilling new territory. The scene was shaped by producer nights like the legendary Low End Theory (weekly at The Airliner in Lincoln Heights). For $10 you could hear future greats like Flying Lotus in an intimate room. It’s all about raw creativity: sampling and drum programming with no rules. The vibe is “everything mixed together”: dusty samples meet futuristic synths, and swinging, off-kilter rhythms create a hypnotic head-nod. This history is the perfect DNA for Space Dome at De Nachtzuster Tilburg: eclectic, bass-heavy, and completely unique.

Geïnspireerd door de legendarische intieme avonden in Melkweg Amsterdam, brengen we de bass van de West Coast beat scene naar De Nachtzuster Tilburg. Op donderdag 30 juli 18:30 tot 23:30 transformeert De Nachtzuster zich tot een intieme ruimte. Verwacht trip-hop, beats, diepe grooves en experimentele ritmes. Een lange soundtrack die je meeneemt van J Dilla tot Flying Lotus, van Massive Attack naar DJ Shadow. Van middag tot middernacht. Geen haast, alleen hypnotiserende bassen en een close-knit vibe. Dit is het geluid van LA in Tilburg.

Het geluid van Los Angeles in de jaren 2000: een rit na zonsondergang waarin jazz, hiphop en elektronische muziek samensmelten tot een zwaar, kosmisch geheel. Geboren uit een community van producers in slaapkamers en kelders, duwde deze scene instrumentale hiphop in spannend nieuw terrein. De scene werd gevormd door producersavonden als de legendarische Low End Theory (wekelijks in The Airliner in Lincoln Heights).
